Take Table Lamp by Kartell Lamps. The classic image of the bedside lamp has been revisited by Kartell technology and transformed into an industrial product. Made of transparent or coloured injected polycarbonate, Take is available in various chromatic tones. The shape comes from the joining of two joined symmetrical parts: two flat, rectangular and two-dimensional plates which each assume the shape and volume of a half-lamp. The internal pleating of the lampshade embellishes the item, creating a play of light when turned on. The optimum value for money and perfect packaging for a cash-and-carry product make it an excellent gift idea. Take Table Lamp by Kartell Lamps is designed by Ferruccio Laviani.
Kartell was founded in Milan in 1949 by Giulio Castelli, a chemical engineer who believed that industrial plastics could produce objects of genuine aesthetic value. Over the following seven decades the company proved the point with a catalogue that spans furniture, storage and lighting - all unified by an uncompromising commitment to Italian manufacturing and to using plastic as a design material with its own integrity. The Bourgie table lamp by Ferruccio Laviani (2004) reinterpreted a Baroque candelabra in transparent polycarbonate - a joke that turned out to be genuinely beautiful and has been in continuous production for twenty years. The Battery portable lamp by Eugeni Quitllet brought Kartell's polycarbonate palette to cordless LED technology. Each lamp is manufactured at Kartell's factory in Noviglio, Milan.
