Yamagiwa | Jakobsson Table Lamp
MODEL OPTIONS:
Jakobsson Table Lamp by Yamagiwa. Scandinavian masterpiece the Jakobsson lamp, has been faithfully reproduced and assembled by traditional Japanese craftspeople. When illuminated, the thin wood casts a distinctly organic redish-orange filtered light that reveals the wood's fine grain and casts a warm and beautiful glow. Jakobsson Table Lamp by Yamagiwa is designed by Hans-Agne Jakobsson.
Yamagiwa Corporation was established in Tokyo in 1923 as a lighting retailer. Over the following century it evolved into one of Japan's most significant lighting manufacturers, distinguished by a series of landmark design collaborations that brought international designers into dialogue with Japanese craft traditions. The Mayuhana, designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Toyo Ito, uses spun fiberglass to create a cocoon-like form that produces a warm, luminous glow unlike any other material. The Tear Drop by Tokujin Yoshioka suspends crystal in a teardrop geometry that refracts light across a room. The Jakobsson collection reissues Hans-Agne Jakobsson's celebrated pine-strip Scandinavian designs under licence in Japan - a Swedish mid-century classic manufactured with Japanese precision.
